Deaf Devils officially recognized by the RBFA

​

Since Monday, October 24, 2016, our national deaf team, the Deaf Devils , is an official and full member of the Belgian football family. They were invited by the Belgian football association RBFA to sign a cooperation agreement, together with the national blind football team, the Special Olympics team, and the Belgian Homeless Devils and Flames. Thanks to this recognition, the Deaf Devils can now use one of the many training areas at the Belgian Football Center in Tubize for training once a month for free. In addition, they can always use the official outfits, tracksuits and materials of the RBFA free of charge for all competitions. The RBFA will now also always distribute all updates and results of the Deaf Devils through their communication channels. The Belgian Deaf Devils U21 were founded by the Deaflympics Committee ICSD and are co-coordinated by the Deaflympics Committee ICSD and TD chairman Pascal Giovannardi BDD. The Deaflympics Committee ICSD is an organization that focuses specifically on the development of sports opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing people. The RBFA recognizes the Belgian Deaf Devils U21 team as a national G-football team and supports the team in logistics (training and competition clothing and free use of the Belgian Football Center) and in its communication.

This is a major step forward and we hope that this agreement will open doors to provide more financial support in the future. We strive to continue this line and also to receive recognition or support from our Belgian athletes who participate in the Deaflympics ICSD.

National Team Activities: Deaf Red Devils and U21 Deaf Devils

1. Training Belgian Football center in Tubize

• Bimonthly workouts.

• Focus on team building, training and practice matches.

​

2. Training internship Belgian Football Center in Tubize

​

• Annually.

• Internship weekend (1 night at Martin's Red Hotel).

• Focus on team building training, practice matches, training & information moments.

​

3. Participation in national & international tournaments

​

• One national tournament per level per year.

​
